Our Environmental Initiatives

We are proud members of the Raritan Headwaters Association and take our responsibilities as managers of protected historic farmland seriously.
We actively maintain our forest and river lands, planting new trees on an annual basis, protecting healthy populations of local wildlife and collecting plastic and other garbage that washes ashore. We ask our neighbors and visitors to be conscious of their environmental impact, especially with regards to their single-use plastic consumption and trash disposal.

Our goal is to leave this land better than we found it. To learn more and get involved, contact us.

Forestry Program

We have partnered with Gracie & Harrigan Consulting Foresters to develop and implement a forest protection and reforestation program that allows such species as Oak, Black Walnut, Pine, Sycamore, Dawn Redwood and many others to thrive. We are also committed to planting 30 new trees per year to offset carbon emissions.

River Restoration

Two River Farm is bounded by the Lamington River and the north branch of the Raritan River. We are currently in the initial planning stages of a major project on the north branch of the Raritan River to protect and enhance the habitat of local fish species, vegetation and other aquatic creatures, as well as the birds and mammals that live and hunt in the area.

Kestrel Population & Wildlife Management

We have partnered with the Raritan Headwaters Association to install Kestrel nesting boxes throughout our property to encourage repopulation of this species in the area.

Additionally, Two River Farm provides a safe home to many species native to New Jersey, including the Bald Eagle, Red-Tailed Hawk, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret and many other woodland birds like the Woodpecker, Cardinal, Bluebird and Blue Jay—as well as mammals like the Red Fox, White-Tailed Deer and Coyote.
